CHAPTER III

Love, which penetrates everything, is the current that carries the creative force

emanating from Absolute I to the confines of the Universe. As it flows farther and

farther away from its source, this Love loses its intensity and refinement though its

nature remains unaltered. If we study our Ray of Creation, we may observe a whole
scale of values in the radiations emitted by the Central Sun, by our Sun, by the Earth

and, finally, by the Moon.

We have already seen the position that the man without adopts towards Love. It

reflects his level of being, his subjectivity and the hold his Personality has over him. The

splendour of the Love which proceeds from Absolute I is inconceivable to him. He can
imagine what the Love proceeding from Absolute II (the Christ) is like; he may recognise

its nobility and efficacy but, as long as man stays the way he is, he cannot practice it, for

Christ's Love is an objective Love and, in order to feel it, man must go through the 4th

stage or that of the balanced man, and then attain, through his second Birth, the level of
being which is that of a man 5, that is of an Individuality. In the Sermon on the Mount,

Christ charged his disciples to break through this barrier of subjectivity:

Ye have heard that it hath been said: thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine

enemy.
