One may note that in the schema, the superman and the saint are placed on the

same horizontal line: this signifies that the transition from one state to the other no
longer takes place by an ascension, by a growth, as in the case of the passage between

the man without (1, 2, 3) to the state of the balanced man (4), but by a development.

These developed men, in the esoteric sense of the term, are the only ones who

can enable humanity to compensate for the consequences of its backwardness on the
moral plane, to avoid the deluge of Fire and to enter into the Era of Fulfilment. In the

same way, at the beginning of the Cycle of the Son, the members of the Sanhedrin could

have ensured the passage of the whole of humanity to the stage of development.
